Bloger thoughts

I think that I am getting use to blogger but well it could use some improvemnts and the same goes for word press where I have a sci-fi blog.

I really miss the stats page where I could see how many and who logged onto my journal. There were a lot of people on JS who read but never made a comment - which was OK with me but at least I could see that it was being read. Wordpress does allow you to see a graf of how many readers you had.

Well enough crying over something that is in the past

Your Personal Goals

Goals are an objective we set for ourselves to help us judge our progress. It is good to have good goals to encourage our service for Christ as well as our life. Goals should be clear, concise, challenging and realistic. They need to be stretching our past performance but still be within our reach. A goal should also be measurable in quantity and time. The stated a goal is a start but to give no time deadline to meet the goal is to lose its effectiveness.

Are your personal goals enough of a challenge to stretch you a bit and are they with in reach?

When We Pray

I am always fascinated by the ways that people pray around the world. There is NO one way to pray that is better than another.

Some of us bow our heads and fold our hands in quiet prayer and some raise our eyes and hand in loud praise for the whole world to hear.

Some get down on hands and knees and touch our heads to the floor - some even face in a certain direction, as in Jerusalem or Mecca.

I know a man who walks and talks with God as one would a neighbor all the time.

Prayer is a conversation with God and what ever works for  you is OK.

Volunteer Ranger

Today is a volunteer day for me at Jefferson Memorial Forest as a "Trail Ranger" and I will be helping to clear one of the trails so it will be safe for the public. The forest was hit hard by the ice storm and  had to be closed and it will be opened one trail at a time.
Well off to work.

Wellenss and Spiritual Practices

My denomination the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has developed a new exciting web site for wellness and Spiritual Practices for the church's clergy but it is too good to keep it a secret.

It is called: The Well-Fed Spirit and you can see it at www.wellfedspirit.org if you would like to explore that facet of your life. It is a new venture so is still being developed but I really like it and have discovered some wonderful ideas.

I invite you to check it out and let me know what you think. Even those of your who may not believe in God may find some useful personal growth ideas on this web site.

Our Storm Damage

The winter storm damage was hard to take but take it we must.
The rest of it lies on the ground and will become fire wood for the survival of the next big storm.

Our once beautiful maple tree is split down the middle.
