Do You Have A CSA?

Do you have a CSA? No not the Confederate States of America.

This CSA is Community Supported Agriculture. We do.

Chin

CSA is a direct connection with a farmer or co-op of farmers. It is more than going to a farmers market. When you purchase a CSA you enter into the risk of farming by paying the farmer up front at the start of the growing season by purchasing a share or shares of his crop. Then during the harvest season you collect your basket [s] of fresh produce.

This is truly farm fresh produce and it taste great.Cool We love it.

On the Book of ROmans

Paul wrote his “Epistle” or letter to the long establish Christian Church in Rome. In Acts chapter 2 we find that there were Jews from Rome in Jerusalem who heard Peter’s sermon and accepted Jesus as the Messiah. They went back to their home in Rome and shared their faith in Jesus with other Jews in Rome. The church grew for over thirty years with out the presence of an Apostle. Paul wrote his letter to the Elders of the church because he planned to travel to Rome and this letter would tell them what Paul believed.

Paul’s other letters were to churches he had established and they wrote to him asking for advice on how to deal with problems. On the other hand his letter to the Romans was his Theological treatise and an introduction. It is well thought out and gives Paul’s comprehensive interpretation of the incarnation and the ministry of Christ. As a Pharisee Paul was a well trained theologian. In writing this letter Paul provided the Christian faith with a powerful theological statement and it became wide spread among first century Christian churches.

Down through the centuries the Epistle to the Romans has inspired people like Augustine, Martin Luther, and John Wesley and many others to an understanding of Christian theology at a higher plane. It still inspires people today to grapple with their faith in Christ.

Funeral Rant

I am back from attending my cousins funeral in Quincy Illinois. The family gets smaller all the time it seems. My cousin was only 49 years old and just died in her sleep. You never know when your time will come.

The preacher who conducted the funeral hardly mentions her by name and used to funeral message as a means to convert people to his church. He even gave an alter call and asked people to visit him in his church office. I later learned from the funeral director that this preacher uses that same sermon for every funeral. If find that practice to be unethical.

Teen Irritation

It had been a long day at home, 13 year old Jimmy had done everything that irritated his mother and she had yelled at him for each violation. Finally in exasperation she said, "Jimmy, I would like to go at least one day with out yelling at you!"

To which Jimmy responded, "You have my permission."
