White House Diary

Last Sunday on 60 Minutes I saw President Jimmy Carter interviewed about his new book "White House Diary" and was fasinated by his candor.

Chin
So I purchased the book and am now reading it. Mercy there was a lot we did not know about going on behind the scenes. I always thought that one of Carter's faults was that he was too honest with us. He was one of the most honest and frank presidents we ever had and as a people we didn't like to be told the truth.

Blink
I will let you know what I think about it after I have finished reading this thick heavy book.Chin

42 Years Late

As a Viet Nam Veteran I watched with tears in my eyes as the sons of Chief Master Sgt. Richard Etchberger were presented their fathers Medal of Honor some 42 years after he gave his life in Laos saving his wounded men.
Cool
His mission was secret because we were NOT suppose to be operating in Laos but we were. But even after his mission was declassified 20 years ago this Hero was not properly honored.
Chin
I watched with pride as President Obama presented his three sons with the metal. President Obama also said that the way Viet Nam Vets were treated after the war was a shame and it should never happen again. Even if our leaders send the troops into unjust wars we should always honor the valor of the young men and women we send to war.

What ???

In the paper recently it was noted that a certain charity had purchased season box seats in the new arena for $92,000.00 per year. The tickets are to be use by potential high dollar donors. Right! They better be very high dollar donors.
 What
It was also noted that the executive officer made an annual salary of  $600,000 + perks. The total administrative cost of the charity was 97% of its income leaving 3% for the people it is suppose to serve.

 BashRant
In my mind this is not a real charity and I would never donate to one that had such a high rate of administrative cost and such a low rate of charitable work. This is a self-serving organization that raises money to provide for its self not to help others.

Road Blocks of Fear

The fear of making a mistake can often be a major road block to personal progress.
 Blink
When we learn from mistakes we become more successful and move on to the fulfillment of our goals. The real trick is learning from them instead of being afraid of making them.
