Fringe Groups

I have always been struck by the actions of Jesus in the Gospels when he walked among sinners. He was often chided by the self righteous religious for consorting with tax-collectors and sinners.

Jesus often mingled with those who were social outcast. What other people thought was of little concern for Rabbi Jesus. He associated freely with tax collectors, sinners, lepers, and even ex-cons. In fact Jesus treated the fringe groups on the edge of society with love and compassion.

Jesus taught us - "As you do it to the least of these - you do it to me."

"Live in  harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited." Romans 12:16
